The Lake Part 3

Logan discovered he loves basketball, with a little help from aunt Cheryl. Liberty was playing soccer... with a basketball with Mitch, but I didn't get any photos of that. Don't ask me how that happened.

We all went up to see great grandma. She was happy to see us and very talkative. I consider it a blessing to see her every time we go. And love being able to share her with my kids...And Look! Both my kids are smiling and looking at the camera!!!! Ok, Berti is kind of making a face but it counts. Grandma has a way with them :)

We got an early birthday cake for Berti. She loved the monsters on it.

And Lastly, our most important night of the trip was our Scrabble Game with Grandma :)

This is Eric's Scrabble face.

Eric and Grandma have a hilarious feud going on. Unfortunately for them both, the team of Katina and Ross kicked all of our butts this time :)

The Lake Part 2

Night Swimming is my absolute favorite thing to do while at the lake. So we did it a lot... I think almost every night we were there :) We actually took the kids out one night too and they loved it too.

The Lake Part 1

In early August, we took a trip up to the lake. We brought Our friend Jeff and Eric's brother Ross with us.

This photo makes me laugh because Ross said he had no interest in drinking before we arrived and then within 20 minutes of arriving, grandpa had him drinking wine :)

We spent a lot of our time out on the water. The boys loved the jet skis and the girls loved tubing. Both Berti and Logan really enjoyed the boat rides. My favorite part was the swimming.

Logan was so relaxed on the water he fell asleep on the boat...

And later on while swimming with KiKi.

This is one of my favorite shots of the kids :)

Between the bouts of beautiful sunshine, there was rain. Logan was at first afraid of the puddles. Then after watching daddy run through them, he played for over half an hour in them. Just running back and forth, back and forth :)

After the boat rides we had sea weed and clay fights... we're super mature people :)

I went out with Elle and Katina to get pedicures in town. Elle got fish that looked really cool, I think Katina got flowers, also cool. I got spiders... except he painted them with only six legs so they look like flies :) I'm still laughing about them.

Life update

Oh my goodness, I'm such a bad blogger. I promised to put up more photos 5 weeks ago... I guess I've been busy.... ok since I last posted, We took the kids up to the lake (photos to come) I got elected president of the preschools parents group which is really weird because I never saw myself as one of "those" parents but I guess now I am :) Eric is leaving walmart and starting a new job, Berti turned 5 and started her second year of preschool. She's loving it. She got a new backpack. Picked it out herself. It's got Iron Man, Spider Man and Wolverine on it...Maybe there's hope of her not being too girly :) She gets upset on the weekend when she doesn't have school...and they have a 3 day weekend EVERY week... thank god for Sunday school starting up again soon :)

Ok I'll post our trip to the lake soon but first, Berti's birthday and first day of school.

Her birthday was a BBQ in our back yard. Berti loved it. She swam the whole time and when I told her she could have whatever she wanted to eat, she piled her plate up with nothing but chips and dip. She's just like her daddy :) I gave her a new temporary tattoo today, this one is less scary than her normal skull and bones ones, it's some cute cherries. Ok, this cloud was awesome. It looks just like the one from the Independence day movie when the spaceships were flying threw our atmosphere but hadn't broken threw the clouds first. I'm such a nerd :) The "L" she's making with her fingers is for Liberty. She does it all the time so when you see it in pictures, know that she's being cute, not mean. School started and the bus no longer comes to our house :( We have to walk, or drive depending on the weather, to the other side of town. It's not a big deal if the bus is on time but during the 2 weeks since school started, the bus is always early or late. The schedule says they should be there at 1:30 to drop her off but once I got a call at 1:00 from the bus driver asking where I was. Turns out they switched the drop off times but they forgot to tell me. The very next day, they were 25 minutes late to pick her up (no schedule change, just late) and we walked and that morning was COLD! The day after that, I showed up 15 minutes early and the bus was already waiting for us. The other kid who waits with us lives right on the corner of the stop so they can just look out the window. I'm on the other side of town so it's impossible for me to see if they are there early. I'm really hoping they just haven't figured out the route completely and that they'll put out a new schedule soon and stick to it. If not, I'm considering driving her plus I'd get to sleep in a whole hour if I drove her in the mornings and that would be awesome :)
